How to Choose High-Grade Gypsum Powder: 3 Critical Standards for Pro Buyers
Not all gypsum powders are of equal quality. For industrial manufacturers and high-end designers, choosing the wrong grade of gypsum may cause the product to crack, have impurities, turn yellow, and even waste the production cycle. As a leading source factory, TEKO Gypsum will reveal to you the three major technical standards for defining high-quality gypsum.
- Whiteness benchmark (“95%+” rule)
In luxury lighting, aromatherapy containers and other industries, whiteness is a key indicator that cannot be compromised. Low-grade gypsum powder often has a gray or yellow tone, and the finished product often requires a large amount of chemical painting. Our laboratory test results always show that the whiteness level of TEKO gypsum powder is as high as 96.2%, ensuring that the product can present a pure and delicate surface effect like porcelain after being removed from the mold.
- Advantages of particle fineness and Raymond Mill
Standard construction gypsum powder is usually coarse-grained, which is easy to cause bubbles or rough surface texture in the finished product. And high-quality gypsum powder must be finely ground by a precision Raymond mill. This ultra-fine powder makes the gypsum paste smoothly penetrate into the smallest gap in the mold, so as to accurately capture and present the fine details that are beyond the reach of those low-priced gypsum powder.
- The balance between strength and condensation time
One of the pain points often encountered by factories in the production process is the “brittleness” problem of gypsum. High-grade gypsum powder should have a flexural strength of 7.0 MPa or higher. However, if the condensation time is unstable, simple high intensity is meaningless. Therefore, you should choose a supplier that can flexibly customize the condensation time according to your specific production line needs (for example, it takes 10-15 minutes for small crafts and more than 30 minutes for large GRG panels).
